Our Services
Construction aggregates, including sand and gravel as well as limestone, are vital components for all building and infrastructure needs. While aggregate is used primarily in asphalt and concrete (94% of asphalt pavement and 80% of concrete is aggregate), virtually all construction in America involves the use of aggregate.

Processed Gravel
Man-made gravel with controlled amounts of clay, sand & stone. Stone size is controlled, allowing full control over the composition of the final product.
Recycling
According to a case study conducted by the Natural Stone Council, each year the construction industry generates over 160 million tons of waste that includes stone and concrete. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), states that environmental stewardship is the responsibility for environmental quality shared by all those whose actions affect the environment. Environmental stewardship is designated as a major focus area for several government agencies and the overall βgreenβ strategic plan.
Crushing
Raw materials for crushed stone come from a number of sources, and any given load can contain a mix. Using crushing equipment and screens, Miles River Sand & Gravel break the rock up into small chunks.
Screening
Screening is the separation of material into different sized products. The material is separated by passing through a vibrating ‘screen box’ which has a number of different sized screens, or meshes which the material falls through like a sieve. The material falls onto conveyors which stock piles the end products. These end products can then be used in the building and construction industries.
